What an eyebrow vent is
An eyebrow gable vent is a tall rectangle with a gently curved top. The curve is softer than a full arch. It rises a little at the center and does not turn into a half circle. That small lift is why the shape feels like an eyebrow rather than a window head.
It is molded high-density polyurethane, factory-primed white, and ready for paint. It does not rot, and it cuts and fastens much like wood trim.
Where it looks right
Cottages and French-country houses use this curve on dormers and on the main gable. It also suits a storybook house that would look stiff with a square vent and too classical with a full arch. Center it under the peak, or align it over a single window on a narrow wall.
Because it is taller than it is wide, it needs a gable with some height. A very low ranch gable will cut the curve off or force the vent down into the window. If the wall is wide and short, look at a half-round or a horizontal oval instead.
Open or closed
open eyebrow gable vents pass air through the slats. closed eyebrow gable vents keep the curved outline and do not ventilate. The tall proportion makes a closed eyebrow a strong decorative piece on its own. Use the open version only when that tall opening is actually wanted in the attic plan.
A short sizing note
The photo shows LOE2234, a 22 by 34 inch eyebrow gable vent. Height is the number people forget. A 34 inch vent needs clear wall above the window line and below the rake. The appearance guide on the sizing page talks about width as a share of the gable. Still check the height against the triangle, or the curve will collide with the roof trim.
Pair it with
Pair it with a shallow arched window, a curved hood, or shutters that are already tall. A hard Craftsman grid usually wants a rectangle instead. The install overview covers placement, the opening for an open vent, and paint after the nail holes are filled.
